Full shares are appropriate for a family of 2 with a few small children and half shares should be considered for a single person. Weekly shares will be available for pick up on Wednesday evenings at our Madison drop off location or at the farm after 3 PM. Any shares that are not picked up at the Madison location will be brought back to the farm and be available until Thursday evening. Please see our sites page for more details. Payments will be accepted by credit card and PayPay through our web site.
We plan to start share delivery in early June and continue through mid October. However, this may vary slightly depending on weather and growing conditions. Early season shares should consist of herbs, fresh lettuce greens and radishes. As the season progresses, you should find beets, snap peas, scallions and carrots in your shares. Late July through September should bring bountiful supplies of vegetables and fruits such as zucchini, fennel, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and cucumbers to name a few. October harvest will bring winter squash, pumpkins and hardy cool weather greens such as kale and swiss chard. A variety of greens should be in your share throughout most of the season. Please see our Whats Growing page for a list of what we plan to offer. Please visit our Join Our CSA page if you wish to become a member and purchase a share.

Grass Fed Pasture Raised Lamb Our two Dorset ewes Molly and Poppy and their daughters Snowball, Spotty and Sparky are bred each Fall and lamb in early Spring. The lambs enjoy sunshine and are rotationally grazed to fresh green pasture throughout the season. They are supplemented with organic grain when dry conditions produce a shortage of lush green grass. If you are interested in a lamb share please let us know so we may place you on the reservation list. Our pasture raised grass-fed lamb will be much more lean and flavorful than commercial lamb. The meat is best slow cooked in stews or braised for hours in preparation for a wonderful family meal. Our grass fed lambs grow more slowly and are smaller then commercial varieties who may be confined and exist on grain alone. Our lambs may yield 25-50 pounds of meat after processing. We offer whole lambs for $200.00 each. We take our live lambs to Hoesly's meats in New Glarus who butcher the lambs in a humane way. Butchering and processing usually costs an additional $80.00 to $90.00 per lamb for regular cuts. Please contact Hoesly's Meats to discuss any special cuts of lamb you would like and to arrange pick up of your meat. CSA members will be notified once Fall Lamb shares become available. Pastured Pork Bruno and Bella, our two black Mulefoot Hogs, were purchased as baby piglets in Spring 2011 from a local organic farm in Western Wisconsin. Fed on organic grain and produce from our own CSA they grew into a healthy breeding pair to produce heritage, pasture raised pork for our members as well as our own family. The woods behind our barn will be secured by fencing in 2012 and allow the pigs to roam freely and root in the cool soil for underground goodies. The black Mulefoot Hogs are a rare heritage breed unique to the United States. This breed is known for its tasty meat, docile nature and hardiness which differs from the commercially produced breeds that are often grown in confined conditions and are deprived of their natural instinct to root and roam the land. We plan to offer whole, half and quarter hog shares in Fall 2012 if all goes well with breeding. We will take our pigs to Hoesly's meats in New Glarus who butcher the pigs humanely. Please contact Hoesly's Meats to discuss any special cuts of pork you would like and to arrange pick up of your meat. CSA members will be notified once Fall Pork shares become available.
