Welcome

Campo di Bella is a small, diversified, family farm located in South Central Wisconsin dedicated to providing fresh, seasonal, local produce through community supported agriculture (CSA) and sustainable practices. We offer summer vegetable shares and pasture-raised, grass-fed lamb. Pasture-raised heritage pork should be available by late fall 2012. Our vegetables are available from June through mid October in half or full shares. All our produce is grown locally without commercial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Instead, we rely on organic and natural practices such as cover cropping, crop rotation and composted animal manure to nurture our soil.

We are offering 25 vegetable shares in 2012 with a pick up location near the west side of Madison. We grow many heirloom varieties of vegetables which are tastier than many of their commercial counterparts. We follow natural, seasonal farming practices with an emphasis on healthy greens. Our small family farm model allows us to give our members greater personal attention and a chance to truly "know your farmer". Membership gives opportunity to connect with others who appreciate tasty varieties of vegetables grown through sustainable methods. At the end of the season we invite our members to a Fall bonfire and harvest party. Enjoy our home grown recipes that will accompany our weekly newsletter. Sit down at the table with your family for a wonderful locally grown meal and reawaken a more traditional and simple way of life.

Over the next few years, we hope to increase our farm diversity by offering shares in grass-fed beef and heirloom fruit. To honor our Italian heritage and family, we hope to expand our farm to a sustainable winery. Nearly an acre of cold-hardy grapes have been planted in Spring 2010. Our Southdown Baby Doll sheep trim the grass and providing organic fertilizer for the vines in the summer sun.

We are honored to be part of the FRESH Food Cooperative since 2009. FRESH is a cooperative of farms in southern Wisconsin dedicated to producing vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs, cheeses, canned goods, wool and other farm commodities sustainably. Our membership in FRESH allows our CSA members to obtain health care rebates from many of the local health insurance providers. Check with your health plan to see if they offer rebates for being part of our CSA.
